About

AMAZON SPHERES

Amazon Spheres is the centerpiece of Amazon’s expansive headquarters, spanning approximately 3.3 million square feet over three city blocks. The development includes three 37‑story high‑rise office towers, a mid‑rise office building, a multi‑purpose meeting center, and a vibrant, mixed‑use neighborhood with ground‑level retail, sheltered pedestrian arcades, public art, a dog park, and a dedicated cycle track.

The Spheres themselves are a multi‑story, glass‑enclosed workplace filled with tens of thousands of plants and trees from around the world, designed to foster creativity and well‑being.

LITEFLAM XT90 contributed to the architects’ vision by providing an interior, 1.5‑hr fire‑rated glass floor solution that enhances natural light throughout the space.

PROJECT CHALLENGES

Balancing Fire Safety and Design in Mixed-Use Headquarters

  • Integrating advanced glazing systems within a complex, mixed‑use corporate environment.
  • Balancing stringent fire safety standards with a design that emphasizes openness and community.
  • Coordinating diverse elements of a multi‑block, large‑scale development.
