The Smith Campus Center is a dynamic center of University life, enabling the greater Harvard community to come together in new and exciting ways.
It’s part of a multi-year effort to create and improve common spaces across Harvard to help ensure its physical spaces foster the intellectual, cultural, and social experience.
The building’s renovated façade is the backdrop for newly designed outdoor spaces. Light-filled interior spaces include glass bridges, food venues, unique indoor landscape elements. The suspended glass walkways and platforms are a key feature in the main hall allowing natural light to flow from the upper walkways and platforms to the floor below.
The project has been very well received by both Harvard University (the president, faculty, staff and students) and the public as a whole. “The glass walkways run adjacent to multiple giant green walls which makes the walkways even more stunning.”
